The Bowen Technique

The Bowen Technique is one of the most gentle hands-on techniques that ever exist

A Bowen treatment consists of gentle moves performed with the fingers or thumbs, on very specific locations on the body (on muscles, tendons, ligaments, or nerves), either on bare skin or over clothes.

How does Bowen work?

The Bowen treatment pays special attention to the fascia – the sheet of connective tissue that covers the muscles, the internal organs, and the bones.

By working on the muscles and fascia together, we can affect the way the body structure works, helping you adopt a less painful posture for example or a better function of the respiratory muscles: diaphragm, intercostals muscles etc. This approach often results in a long-lasting effect on the body alignment without the need for vigorous manipulation or pulling about. Being so gentle, everyone including babies and elder persons enjoys Bowen sessions.

There are important breaks of a few minutes between the sets of moves, needed for the body to process the messages sent through the neurotransmitters, stimulating the body to heal itself, often profoundly.
